High Hardness

Aluminum oxide has high hardness. The hardness of aluminum oxide is second only to diamond. The Mohs hardness of aluminum oxide is about 9, while the hardness of diamond is close to 10.

Excellent Thermal Conductivity

It has good thermal conductivity, with a thermal conductivity coefficient of 30~40 W/(m·K) at room temperature. The thermal conductivity of alumina is far superior to common thermal conductive materials such as steel, copper and aluminum.

What is the difference between alumina toughened zirconia (ATZ) and zirconia toughened alumina (ZTA)?

Zirconia toughened alumina (ZTA) and alumina toughened zirconia (ATZ) are both advanced composite ceramic materials. They differ mainly in the composition of the base ceramic phase and the reinforcement phase. The basic ceramic phase of ZTA is alumina (Al2O3), and its reinforcing phase is zirconia (ZrO2) particles, which have better thermal shock resistance and wear resistance. On the other hand, ATZ has higher corrosion resistance and chemical stability, and alumina-toughened zirconia has better toughness and higher cost.
