What is Alumina Ceramic
The molecular weight of alumina is 102, and its chemical formula is Al2O3. This is a widely used material, and the main raw material of alumina ceramics is alumina. The melting point of alumina is 2100℃, which gives alumina ceramics excellent high-temperature stability! What is the difference between alumina toughened zirconia (ATZ) and zirconia toughened alumina (ZTA)?
Zirconia toughened alumina (ZTA) and alumina toughened zirconia (ATZ) are both advanced composite ceramic materials. They differ mainly in the composition of the base ceramic phase and the reinforcement phase. The basic ceramic phase of ZTA is alumina (Al2O3), and its reinforcing phase is zirconia (ZrO2) particles, which have better thermal shock resistance and wear resistance. On the other hand, ATZ has higher corrosion resistance and chemical stability, and alumina-toughened zirconia has better toughness and higher cost.
