Advanced Ceramic Manufacturing-Dry Pressing
GORGEOUS CERAMICS (GGS) is proficient in molding processes for various ceramic formulations, including alumina, silicon nitride, and silicon carbide. You’ll not only get molded ceramic parts, but also complete customized solutions!
Dry pressing is one of the most widely used forming processes in advanced ceramics manufacturing. This method involves applying unidirectional or bidirectional pressure to granular powder within a mold, rapidly pressing it into a green body with a certain strength and shape.
Dry pressing is known for its high efficiency, low cost, and good dimensional consistency, making it particularly suitable for ceramic parts with relatively simple structures that require mass production.
Our Factory Advantages
Molding quality control and large-scale production capacity
GORGEOUS CERAMICS (GGS) boasts a mature dry pressing process, ensuring consistent density distribution across its products.
Our molding density fluctuations are controlled within ±1–2%, effectively reducing common issues such as delamination, cracking, and uneven strength.
We utilize automated pressing, with a single-piece molding cycle of only a few seconds, achieving an annual production capacity of 35 million pieces.
Molding + Precision Machining Integration
We offer a wide range of high-precision and complex-structure ceramics, along with subsequent processing support, including green body processing and post-sintering CNC precision machining (grinding/drilling/precision structures, etc.). Our machining accuracy can reach ±0.01 mm.
From powder to finished product, we have strict quality control throughout the entire process, and conduct full inspection or random inspection of finished products (depending on customer requirements).
Ceramic dry pressing process flow
The common production process of ceramic dry pressing mainly includes the following key steps.
Raw material powder -> Powder pretreatment (grinding/sieving/impurity removal) -> Batching and mixing (adding binders and lubricants) -> Granulation (spray granulation/dry granulation) -> Powder aging (stability and flowability) -> Automatic material feeding (filling the mold) -> Dry pressing (unidirectional pressing/bidirectional pressing) -> Demolding (obtaining green body) -> Green body trimming -> Degreasing (removing organic matter) -> High-temperature sintering (densification) -> Precision machining (grinding/drilling/CNC) -> Inspection and quality control (dimensions/density/performance) -> Finished product warehousing/shipment
