Silicon Carbide Plunger

GORGEOUS CERAMICS (GGS) silicon carbide plunger rods are manufactured using dry-bag isostatic pressing and pressureless sintering.

We can perform multi-angle drilling, keyway machining, and precision machining of inner and outer diameters and end faces, as well as five-axis machining, according to customer design requirements.

Typical Applications of Silicon Carbide Plunger Rods

Silicon carbide plungers can be used in plunger pump systems operating under highly corrosive media and high particle erosion conditions, exhibiting excellent wear resistance and service life.

In addition, silicon carbide plungers can also be used in fine chemical, pharmaceutical, and medical industries.

Features and Advantages of Silicon Carbide Plungers

SiC ceramic plunger designed for high wear resistance and long service life

GORGEOUS CERAMICS (GGS) silicon carbide plunger rods can be drilled, keywayed, and finished in both inner and outer diameters and end faces (including curved surfaces).

Rough blanks with a machining accuracy of 0.1mm are also available; finished products with a cylindricity accuracy of up to 0.001mm and a surface roughness Ra of up to 20nm are also available.

Our plungers undergo rigorous testing for density, dimensions, surface fluorescence penetrant, and surface microstructure before leaving the factory.

Our silicon carbide plunger rod material has a density of 3.15g/cm³, a Vickers hardness of over 23GPa, and high wear resistance.

The silicon carbide plunger rod material is TUV FDA certified and meets the requirements for food-grade media transportation.

FAQ

What are the main advantages of silicon carbide plungers in corrosive media pumping applications?

Silicon carbide plungers possess high hardness, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance, resulting in a significantly longer service life compared to metal or traditional ceramic plungers.

Are your silicon carbide plungers suitable for high-pressure continuous operation?

Yes, GORGEOUS CERAMICS (GGS) silicon carbide plungers are high-strength, have a low coefficient of friction, and can withstand high-pressure environments, making them ideal for long-term continuous operation with minimal wear and stable performance.
